Dr. Hans W. Fuchs is A TRIPLE GERMAN BOARD certified Doctor with full training in Orthopedics, Traumatology and General Surgery. He started his medical education at the Ruhr University, Germany in 1975 and finished his MD at Justus-Liebig University, Germany in 1981.
Following intensive training in various fields of surgery he qualified as a Facharzt (German board) in 3 Faculties. Further to this he is a fully trained emergency physician being a part of the helicopter air rescue service attending a high number of poly-traumatized patients on German highways. He became a consultant in 1992 and has been working for 20 years in Germany (University of Marburg Fulda and University of Dusseldorf Wuppertal)
In 2001 he was offered a Consultant post at Harley Street in London and worked alongside Dr. Angus Strover attending and operating patients at the most prestigious private hospitals in the UK capital.
2 years later he was asked to take up another challenge in the North East of England helping a large Orthopedic department in a District General Hospital which was in difficulties. 5 years later and under his guidance as HOD the hospital was now ranking between the best 10 hospitals in the country.
Dr. Hans F. was one of the first to integrate Computer navigated techniques into his practice in Germany and performed the first Computer navigated knee replacement in the north of England.
For his work in England and as Head of the department he has been awarded 4 CLINICAL EXCELLENT REWARDS.
In 2011, he began practicing in a specialty hospital in Dubai, UAE, where he again helped to build a General Orthopedic Department offering a wide range of Elective and Trauma procedures. Between many other surgeries 160 joint replacements were done in the first year.
In May 2013 he followed the call to join the prestigious Burjeel Hospital, having performed more than 2000 procedures ever since (including almost 200 joint replacements).
His special interests include:
Arthroplasties (joint replacement) of knee and hip including revisions
Sports medicine (Arthroscopic surgery) of the knee
Trauma
Dr. Hans F. is focussing in particular on knee conditions and has performed more than 3000 Joint replacements, revisions and ligament reconstructions.
Dr. Hans F. has lectured extensively about different aspects of his service. He was awarded a prestigious international AO travel fellowship which took him through the US and Europe. He acted as an AO instructor for several years under Prof. Dr. Hierholzer, Prof. Dr. Mueller.
He has been elected to be an instructor at the KNEE foundation at Harley street for several years (London & Droitwich Knee clinic)
He is member of several scientific societies.
Dr. Hans F. is polyglot and fluent in several languages including Portuguese (born in Brazil). Thus he became the no. 1 address for the many Brazilian Etihad Pilots and even bigger group of Brazilian jiu jitzu coaches and their families employed by the Abu Dhabi government.
It is Dr. Hans F. conviction that body and soul are one. Whilst one might need an expert surgeon the other definitely requires a compassionate doctor and friend.
