Dr. Jose Puno Villanueva started his clinical practice in 1995 after passing the Philippine Board Examination for Licensed Physician. His career in occupational health started in 1997 when J. Ray McDermott, SA in Dubai hired him as a Medical Officer. He was assigned in the company’s construction yard clinic at Jebel Ali, Dubai, U.A.E. and offshore projects such as in U.A.E. (DPC), Qatar (Oxy, QGPC, QP, Ras-gas), Bangladesh (Sangu), Burma (Total), Saudi Arabia (Aramco, IOC) and India (Reliance, ONGC, Cairn Energy).
In 2001, Dr. Jose was promoted as the Chief of Clinics for McDermott Caspian Contractors, Inc. (MCCI), in Baku Azerbaijan where the company was engaged in the fabrication of rig platforms and marine construction for British Petroleum / AIOC in the Caspian Sea. He developed the health and medical system for the company and was engaged in various aspect of occupational health with Health, Safety and Environmental professionals. In 2005, Dr. Jose joined Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO)as Occupational Health Physician. He was promoted eventually to Sr. Occupational Health Physician as the Head of Occupational Health Department for ADCO.
In August 2013, together with other board of directors, he founded the Asian Philippine Medical Center LLC (APMC) where he worked as the Medical Directoruntil June 2016. He is committed to make a difference in healthcare by providing patients access to personalized healthcare which is patient centered. He is licensed to practice as Occupational Medicine Specialist by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and Eligible to practice as Occupational Medicine Specialist in Dubai under the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).
Dr. Jose joined Elite Medical Center in July 2017 where he is providing Occupational Health Services to corporate client such as Nestle Group of Companies. He is a part-time physician at London Consulting Medical Center (LCMC) situated in Bateen area, Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Jose has Licentiate of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (LFOM), Membership of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (MFOM) of the Royal College of Physician in Ireland, member of American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) and member of International Commission of Occupational Health (ICOH). He has additional training in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine from Adelaide, Australia and took his Healthcare Leadership course at the Harvard University School of Public health in Boston, USA and Professional Diploma in Healthcare Administration at Noting Hill College, UK.
