Dr Mathew completed his MBBS from Bombay University in 1976 and MS (General Surgery) from Delhi University in 1985. He attained FRCS, Ireland in 2002.
Dr Mathew has been practicing in the field of general and gastrointestinal surgery for over 29 years and also performs advanced laparoscopic procedures such as laparoscopic surgery of the colon. Dr Mathew takes special interest in laparoscopic hernia repair surgery.
He has extensive experience in all major abdominal surgeries. Dr Mathew also focuses on operating cancers of the stomach, colo-rectum, Whipple?s pancreatectomies and has more than 50 pancreatic resections to his credit. Dr Mathew is heading the Dept. of Surgery at NMC Specialty Hospital Dubai since 2005.

Should not be allowed to practice.
Should not be allowed to practice. He performed a double hernia operation on me and had 2 years of pain and suffering. I am disfigured from his poor surgery and just now found out my left hernia has returned. I am now forced to get another surgery but because I was never told what type of mesh he used it may not be able to be repaired. The new surgeon will have to cut me open to see what is happening. I did get another opinion before my current situation and he stated the mesh dr Mathew used was to flexible and its why Im having these issues. Dr Mathews also changed his story a couple of times when explaining things to me. When I mentioned it he denied ever saying what he said before. Do NOT let him cut you.
