Profile for Dr. Martine Rosalind Nates
Martine has practiced acupuncture for over 20 years and feels extremely fortunate to be treating adults and children with this ancient healing system. Trained in the UK, at the London School of Acupuncture (Westminster University), she has practiced in The National Health Service as well as privately in the UK, South Africa and now Dubai. She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and is licensed to practice in the UAE.
Martine’s areas of interest include fertility issues (male and female), stress related conditions, migraines, digestive and musculo-skeletal problems which she approaches with acupuncture and Mindfulness Meditation. Because of the interconnectedness of many health related conditions with diet and lifestyle, she particularly focuses on these root cause factors in her treatment.
Martine treats many women throughout their pregnancy for a variety of conditions as well as helping them to prepare for their journey through childbirth into parenthood. She teaches Acupressure in labour classes to couples, empowering them to improve their chances of an efficient labour with minimal medical intervention. As a mother of two daughters, Martine has personally experienced the benefits of acupressure and acupuncture in labour and is keen to share her knowledge with health-workers and other couples to help ease and empower the birth experience and first joys of parenthood.
Having trained to teach the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program through Bangor University, she now teaches the internationally recognized 8 week course at the Koster Clinic. This program has supported 1000’s of people world-wide to manage their stress, become more relaxed, focused, productive and inspired to enjoy life to the full.
