Dr. Yasir Ali Malik is a senior psychiatrist with more than 12 years of clinical experience in the specialty of general psychiatry. He has extensive clinical experience of working in large, tertiary care, multispecialty hospital settings across India as well as in UAE. He has private practice experience of more than 10 years as well. Dr Yasir graduated from Al-Ameen Medical College Bijapur, University of Karnatak, India with an M.B.B.S degree in 2000 and subsequently trained in Psychiatry at Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (IMHANS), which is a centre of excellence in Psychiatry at Government Medical College Srinagar, University of Kashmir, India.
He has worked as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the prestigious JCI (USA) accredited Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Centre (SRMC) ,Chennai, India where he was extensively involved in teaching post-graduate psychiatry trainees as well as undergraduate (M.B.B.S) students and also served as a faculty member of the post-graduate psychiatry training program. He has also worked as Consultant Psychiatrist at Postgraduate department of Psychiatry IMHANS, Government Medical College Srinagar, India.
Before joining Symbiosis medical Centre he worked as Head of department, Specialist and Adjunct Clinical tutor of Psychiatry at Thumbay Hospital, Dubai from 2015-May 2018.
Additionally, he has publications on post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and psychiatric comorbidity in epilepsy patients to his name. He has special interest in general adult psychiatry, psycho-pharmacology, consultation-liaison psychiatry, post-traumatic stress disorder and mental health problems in epilepsy patients.
