Dr. Caesar Zahka completed his internship at Sinai Hospital, Detroit, USA, in 1990, performing a residency in Neurology at the same hospital. He then received a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Wayne State University, in Detroit, USA, between 1991 and 1995. Dr. Zahka received certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in 2005. He has also been trained in Clinical Acupuncture at the University of Chengdu, in Sichuan, China.
Prior to joining ACPN, Dr. Zahka has worked in the UAE for the last 3 years at Burjeel and Medeor Hospitals, and at Healthbay Polyclinic, as a Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Neurophysiologist. Prior to moving to the UAE, Dr. Zahka worked for 17 years in Syria, both at universities and in the private sector, including private clinics, Italian Hospital, French Hospital, Assad Hospital, and Damascus University.
During his 10 years of working at Damascus University Hospital, Dr. Zahka was active in teaching medical students and residents, and gave frequent lectures in different medical conferences and at community education events.
Dr. Zahka’s primary area of expertise is Adult Clinical Neurology, including headaches, neck and back pain, epilepsy, dizziness and vertigo, dementia and other memory problems, tremors, Parkinson’s disease, nerve and muscle diseases, and multiple sclerosis. In addition, he has practiced Clinical Neurophysiology for over 20 years, and has received training in Neuro-ophthalmology, Pediatric Neurology, and Neuro-otology.
